The Cultural Arts Center of Douglasville/Douglas County presents J’miah Nabawi performing, “There’s Rhythm in the Telling.”
Light up the winter nights with your own unique painted lighted bottle! In this workshop, students will paint a glass bottle with their own unique design and insert lights for a finishing touch. All supplies and materials provided. Students have option to bring their favorite acrylic paintbrushes.
Class Outline:
Part 1: Distribute and explain supplies. (15 minutes)
Students will choose from a variety of ready-to-paint, pre-drilled bottles.
Part 2: Design
Instructor will show examples of completed bottles and allow time for students to create a design. Instructors will give feedback and suggestions.
Part 3: Painting the bottle (90 minutes)
Students will paint their bottles as desired before adding a sealant.
Part 4 | Installing lights (10 minutes)
Instructor will demonstrate how to install lights. Student will install lights in their painted bottle.
Part 5: Brief discussion on how to care for bottle (5 minutes)

The artwork local members create all year are finally displayed where the work was intended for throughout its creation. Whether the artists’ tribute to the Cultural Arts Center or the Cultural Arts Center’s tribute to the artists, let’s all come together and tribute the freedom to express through art in our own city of Douglasville, Georgia.
Join Douglasville Parks and Recreation for a day of health and fitness. We will
have exercise demos, health screenings, vendors and much more. The first 100
participants to check in will receive a free t-shirt. Lunch will also be provided.
Douglas County Rotary Club hosts the 6×6 Tiny Fundraiser reception on July 16 from 5-7 pm. Come buy a painting on the same night of the opening reception for the Art Guild Swap exhibit. Stop in to purchase any painting for $20 and support your local Arts Council.
Come view a showcase of artwork from Carrollton’s guild that would usually be displayed a town away, while our local Guild displays their work at the Carrollton Cultural Art Center. It’s an Art Swap between guilds! Join us for the reception that will be hosted by Douglasville’s own Rotary Club on the evening of July 16th, 5-7 pm.
